(RTTNews) - Mettler-Toledo International (MTD) reported third quarter adjusted EPS of $1.36 after the close Thursday, compared to the $1.44 reported last year. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $1.18. The company expects to report fourth quarter EPS of $1.90 to $2.00, compared to the consensus estimate of $1.88. The company also boosted its full year EPS forecast to between $5.39 and $5.50, from prior expectations of $4.92 to $5.42.
Mettler-Toledo International gapped open sharply higher Friday and rose in early trade. Shares retreated slightly around midday, but finished up by 3.90 at $97.50 on above average volume. The stock rose above a month and a half long range and set a new high for the year.
