(RTTNews) - Black & Decker Corp. (BDK) and Stanley Works (SWK) announced after the bell Monday that they entered into a definitive merger agreement to create Stanley Black & Decker. The all-stock transaction is valued at approximately $4.5 billion. Black & Decker is now up 8.83 on 833K shares.
Black & Decker was range-bound throughout Monday's session and closed up by 0.12 at $47.34. The stock finished near the middle of a 2-month range.
