(RTTNews) - DIRECTV Group Inc. (DTV) reported third quarter EPS of $0.37 Thursday morning, which fell short of the consensus estimate of $0.39. DIRECTV Group Inc. climbed during the first half hour of trade Thursday and advanced further in the early portion of the afternoon. Shares finished up by $1.70 at $28.54 on the highest volume in 6 months. The stock rose above a month and a half long range and closed at a new high for the year.
