"See you in 2005, and not a minute sooner." Sounds strikingly similar to the mantra of the IAM at United Air Lines last year, "Full pay till the last day." But I do appreciate your frugality and good sense of money well spent, "As I prepared to leave my 1600 sq. foot house, hop in my 95 Honda (sans the CD player)" My point was with people who have spent, borrowed and divorced themselves into a lifestyle that demands wages based on the $196/hr. They are forced to demand, "See you in 2005, and not a minute sooner." They can not rationalize the change in habits of the American consumer. They shop at Costco, bank at WAMU, invest with Charles Schwab, buy their cars over the internet, but they do not understand that this is exactly the phenomena that causes Southwest / Jet Blue / Air Tran to take market share away from United / American / USAir.
